LINKOPING, Sweden–Many national and local politicians came out to Linkoping's Concert and Congress Center on March 27 for the single-night run of the Chinese Spectacular now on world tour.

Among them was Swedish federal MP Gunnar Axen, also Chairman of the Taiwan Friendship Organization in the Parliament. He said he had visited the Republic of China "a couple of times" and very much enjoyed the Chinese culture he found there.

"I think it was a marvelous show, really fantastic and I appreciate it very much. It was pure gold and very inspiring show," said Mr. Axen.

"It's a very expressive but also a very harmonized show," he continued, saying that the show expresses, "basic thoughts about philosophy, spirituality and religious views… in a very cultural way, that is very, very inspiring." He liked every aspect of the performance.

Axen was particularly disturbed by the efforts of the Chinese embassy to stop the performances in Sweden.

"I'm really upset over the [Chinese Embassy] trying to stop the show. It's not acceptable at all because we are a country with a democracy and respect for human rights and everyone's right to express themselves."

Who would Mr. Axen recommend the Chinese Spectacular to?

"I would recommend everyone to go to see it, once or twice or several times. I know that there is a show in Stockholm in the 3rd of April and I hope that everyone that has possibility will go and see the show."

"When the show comes back to Sweden the next time I'm looking forward to it already."

Gunnar Axen lives in a small town 45km north of Linkoping.
