Ballet School Director 'Appreciates Every Aspect' of Spectacular

It takes a dance and choreography professional to appreciate the hard work that goes into organizing a show as grand as the Chinese New Year Spectacular .

"I know how hard it is to put something like that together so I do appreciate every aspect of it," says Anna Kovarsky-Steingold, owner and director of Bayview School of Ballet.

Kovarsky says that classical western and eastern dance are very similar, and their similarities bring the two cultures together.

"There are a lot of methods that are very similar. That is what's so unique about very classical movements: they unite many cultures together."

Like many other viewers, Kovarsky found it hard to pick her favorite performance, but found the Mongolian Bowl Dance especially amusing.

"The coordination, the movements, the beautiful costumes, it's flawless. I mean I'm actually very proud to be Canadian because I'm experiencing such a beautiful culture as I've seen tonight, it's fabulous."

Kovarsky said she would like her students to come and see the show next year for educational purposes.

"I expect them to watch this because it's really an educational process as well for them, and they would have such a great time watching this."
